High Point Enterprise Intern

During the Spring of 2021, Joseph interned at the High Point Enterprise, the local newspaper where he attended college. Although he is on a broadcast track, he realizes the importance of having strong writing skills. This internship allowed him to work on his craft while covering COVID-19, city growth, the High Point Furniture Market, and more.

Vice President of External Communications

Joseph served as the Vice President of External Communications for the Student Government Association of High Point University for two consecutive terms. During his time, he oversaw the growth of the organization’s social media accounts by more than 400%, developed pipelines for news coverage for the organization, and reached six continents through social media. He successfully implemented the first Mental Health Awareness Week on campus, a tradition which has since continued.

Society of Professional Journalists Student Trustee Council

During his college career, Joseph served as a member of the Society of Professional Journalists Student Trustee Council. This council serves as a resource for SPJ, working with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop new ways to support and reach student journalists across the country.

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP

Currently, Joseph serves as the Events Assistant at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP. In this role, Joseph oversees the execution and implementation of events from conception to completion, while remaining in budget. These events range from launch parties to private client dinners to webinars.

Additionally, Joseph assists in the development and implementation of processes and procedures to assist Orrick with maintaining consistency across events. These projects have included the design and development of a Venue Database, a new merchandise store and the implementation of Zoom Events for use on webinars.

NBC News Political Unit Intern

During the summer of 2022, Joseph was a Political Unit Intern at NBC News in Washington D.C. Throughout the summer, he wrote for the Meet the Press Blog, supported political coverage across platforms, and helped to prepare for the 2022 Midterms. His work was featured in ‘Meet the Press First Read’, on ‘Meet the Press’, and in the NBC News Midterm Election Book. Samples of his work can be found on his ‘Stories’ page.

ABC News Nightline Production Intern

During the summer of 2021, Joseph served as a Nightline Production Intern with ABC News. In this role, Joseph logged interviews, pitched stories, booked guests, researched topics, attended editorial meetings, wrote stories, and contributed to the overall production of Nightline.
