Joe believes that events are a way to connect people and create memories while telling a story. Wether it is a party, substantive webinar/seminar or a private dinner, every piece of an event should be intentional.
Events are an opportunity to tell a story, and Joe believes that it is the job of the event planner not to create the story, but to elevate the story being told. From intentional decor to thoughtful drink choices, small items at an event can make an impact on attendees.
Take this for an example: at a recent Women of Color Cocktail Hour, Joe wondered how he could elevate women of color within the event. Joe decided to source all of the beverages for the event from women of color owned businesses. A South African wine, a Napa champagne, a local mocktail, all brewed and crafted by women of color. A sign on the bar explained this and attendees commented on how this small detail impacted their experience, making them feel not just seen, but elevated and celebrated.
